Scottish EV startup Munro Vehicles has introduced a new addition to its all-electric lineup, the Munro MK 1 Pickup. Following the success of their original MK 1 4x4 model, Munro has already sold out production for the next two years.

The MK 1 Pickup, showcased at Fully Charged Live North, features a new rear bed that can accommodate a 1,050 kg (2,315 lb) Euro Pallet payload. The Performance edition offers a remarkable 3,500 kg (7,716 lb) maximum braked towing capacity, making it suitable for heavy hauling with zero emissions. Equipped with a powerful 375 HP (280 kW) motor, the pickup boasts an acceleration of 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds.

Munro's vehicles are designed for durability, aiming to provide 50 years of service with routine maintenance and refurbishment. The MK 1 Pickup comes with a five-year, 100,000-mile warranty, ensuring peace of mind for customers.

The demand for Munro's MK 1 Pickup has been overwhelming, with over 200 pre-orders already secured, further solidifying the company's position in the market. Munro Vehicles' CEO, Russell Peterson, expressed confidence in their ability to meet the needs of industries such as mining, construction, utilities, agriculture, and defense, assisting them in achieving their decarbonization targets.

The Munro MK 1 Pickup is priced at an MSRP of £49,995 Excl. VAT (~$62,000) and is set to begin deliveries later this year. As Munro ramps up production, it plans to move to a larger facility in central Scotland next year, generating 300 new jobs and scaling their output to 250 EVs annually. Ultimately, the company envisions producing up to 2,500 electric vehicles per year at their new site.
