The Rafale adopts Renault's new design language, featuring a fresh front grille design and new matrix LED light signature. It offers a spacious interior with five seats and a generous cargo capacity of 530 liters (18.7 cubic feet).
The Rafale is 4.71 meters (185.4 inches) long and 1.86 meters (73.2 inches) wide, with wider axles and chunky 245-mm tires. It features a panoramic glass roof that can be adjusted from fully opaque to fully transparent.
2024 Renault Rafale
The interior includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen with Android Automotive 12, and support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The hybrid powertrain consists of a turbocharged three-cylinder engine, a main electric motor, and a secondary starter generator motor. The 1.2-liter gasoline unit produces 130 hp (96 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque while the main e-motor is rated at 70 hp (50 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft). As for the secondary e-motor, it’s a starter generator with 34 hp (25 kW) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft). Combined, Renault touts a total output of 200 hp.
2024 Renault Rafale
A plug-in hybrid version is planned for the Rafale, which will offer 300 hp and all-wheel drive with the addition of a rear electric motor. It too will have the updated rear-wheel steering along with model-specific chassis tuning.
Renault Rafale will be produced in the same plant in Palencia, Spain, where Austral and Espace are manufactured. But the start of sales in Europe will take place only in the spring of 2024, and at first only the base 200 hp hybrid will enter the market at a price of about 50 k euros. An AWD version with 300 hp will arrive in time for the summer.
