Ukraine uses left-hand-drive vehicles, but because of the Russian invasion, the country is now full of right-hand-drive cars that were sent as aid from Britain and other right-hand-drive countries. Now the country's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, has resolved this paradox by law.

The new law legalizes the use of right-hand-drive vehicles delivered to military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as humanitarian, charitable or international technical aid and supervised by military personnel in the course of their duties.

This law is temporary. It will remain in effect until the end of martial law and 90 days after its cancellation.

As MP Iryna Gerashchenko explained, Ukraine's defense forces currently use a lot of right-hand drive vehicles. The military has long been asking for the issue of legalization of such vehicles to be resolved.

"Our team has delivered hundreds of such cars to the Armed Forces, and until now the military has been forced to refuel them at their own expense, and we have had many requests to solve this problem. We submitted the bill a long time ago. It is good that the parliament has approved it today," the MP added.
