The Corolla GR Sport performs well in the moose test, a maneuverability test that evaluates a vehicle's ability to avoid an obstacle suddenly appearing in front of it.

The Corolla GR Sport is a warm version of the twelfth-generation Toyota Corolla, positioned below the full-blown GR Corolla hot hatch. The Corolla GR Sport from this video is from the 2023 model year for the Spanish market. It has a naturally aspirated and electrified four-cylinder gas engine under the hood, good for a peak output of 196 horsepower (144 kilowatts) and 190 Newton-meters (140 pound-feet) of torque between 4,400 and 5,200 rpm.

The hatchback has an adjustable suspension with Normal and Sport modes. It rides on 18-inch wheels with Falken Ziex ZE914B tires on all four corners measuring 225/40. After a few days of tests, the editors at km77.com say the car feels very nimble and agile on curvy roads.

From the first attempt of the moose test, the car shows good cornering qualities. The test driver hits a few cones at first, but improves with subsequent attempts, reaching a top speed of 76 kilometers per hour (47.22 miles per hour) in the test. For a car that doesn't belong to the performance segment, this is a good result.

For those looking for a more capable Corolla, the GR Corolla Circuit Edition is available for the 2024 model year. It is equipped with a 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower, a six-speed manual transmission and an adjustable all-wheel-drive system.
