The Danish company has announced that it is currently developing a slightly smaller and more affordable model following the unveiling of the new Zenvo Aurora hybrid hypercar.

Designing and building a vehicle like the Aurora can be quite expensive, especially considering that Zenvo does not have the backing of a major automaker. Therefore, the company intends to maximize the potential of the carbon fiber monocoque it has created by utilizing it for a range of future projects.

At the Monterey Car Week unveiling of the Aurora, Zenvo's Head of Design, Christian Brandt, revealed that their following endeavor is a "junior hypercar".

“We can use this monocoque for other projects,” he said. “The next product down the line is what we call a junior hypercar, so it will be smaller, more compact, lower price point. [The Aurora] is $3 million, that one is probably going to be $1.8 or $2.0 million.” So, not exactly cheap.

Zenvo has developed a versatile monocoque that can be utilized in multiple vehicles. The car is driven by a quad-turbocharged 6.6-liter V12 from Mahle Powertrain that produces an impressive 1,250 hp. It is uncommon for an engine of this size with forced induction to rev to 9,500 rpm. The engine is not exclusive to the Aurora as it is a modular powertrain that can be adapted for allocation in other vehicles.

“The engine is also designed with modularity in mind, so we can actually chop cylinders off – we can do a V8, we can do a V6,” Brandt added. “There are four turbos, they are basically feeding three cylinders each, so if you cut it down and just have two turbos and six cylinders.”

No word on when Zenvo plans to unveil their junior hypercar. But we do know that production of the Aurora won't begin until 2026, so those hoping to get behind the wheel of a new $2 million Zenvo may have to wait until the end of the decade.
