This knob does the triple duty of controlling the drive mode, adjusting the stereo volume, and changing the ambient lighting.

The rotary knob has a small display in the center. When changing drive modes, for example, the small display can show Individual or Sport. The same selection appears on the infotainment screen. The video doesn't explain how someone would switch between the three, but it could be related to pressing the center section.

At this moment we already know that the new generation of the Tiguan will be bigger, as VW has announced it will be 32 millimeters longer and 5 mm higher, while the width remains the same at 1939 mm. The wheelbase remains unchanged at 2681mm. Cargo capacity has increased by 33 liters to 648 liters, providing additional headroom for the driver and front passenger, as well as increased legroom for rear passengers.

The 2024 Tiguan will have a 12.9-inch touchscreen for the cheaper versions and a bigger 15-inch infotainment system for the high-end trims. VW has announced it will add a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a next-generation head-up display, and an OLED screen to the 4Motion Active Control system.

The next-generation Tiguan will offer gasoline and diesel engines, as well as plug-in hybrid options ranging from 201 to 268 horsepower. It will be available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, and is expected to be the last generation that Volkswagen will sell in Europe with internal combustion engines.

The new Tiguan will debut this fall and go on sale in Europe in the first quarter of 2024.
