Volvo is preparing to unveil its first-ever minivan, which it describes as a "Scandinavian living room on the move." Known as the EM90, the Swedish family transporter "creates room for your life" and will break cover on November 12 when orders open in China.

The first preview offers an aerial view of the EM90. It's hard to miss the panoramic sunroof for the rear passengers, along with a much smaller glass panel for the driver and front passenger. Since this is a minivan, the sliding doors on both sides of the car are more important. Volvo's first MPV seems big enough to accommodate three rows of seats.

Other than being entirely electric, there is not much information available about the EM90. It is possible that the EM90 is related to the Zeekr 009, a minivan from one of Geely's various brands that looks very distinctive. This is not a coincidence since Geely is the parent company of Volvo.

One of the images shows the 009's roof, which looks almost identical to that of Volvo's upcoming fancy people-mover. Other features, such as the door handles, antenna, and side mirrors, also appear to remain the same.

Since the EM90 is basically a modified 009 with different taillights and Volvo lettering at the back, it's going to be quite sizable. Zeekr's car measures 205 inches (5209 millimeters) in length, 80 inches (2024 mm) in width, and 74 inches (1867 mm) in height, and has a substantial wheelbase of 126 inches (3205 mm). The car has either 2+2+2 or 2+2 seating arrangements and has a weighty total of 6,239 pounds (2,830 kilograms).

Zeekr 009 features two electric motors that produce a total output of 534 horsepower. This provides enough power to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in four and a half seconds. The 140-kWh battery offers a range of 511 miles (822 kilometers) in the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC).

More teasers to come between now and the debut date.
