Porsche has unveiled its 2024 Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, a fresh addition that incorporates design elements from the SUV’s recent mid-cycle update. This model takes over as the most powerful Cayenne, replacing the previous Turbo version.

The updated Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid packs 739 hp and 950 Nm of torque (for the U.S. version, it's 729 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque). Though it lacks an "S" in its name, it surpasses the prior Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid by 59 hp and 50 Nm. However, it falls short of the BMW XM Label Red, which boasts 749 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque.

Performance enthusiasts looking at Porsche's hybrid SUV won’t be too disappointed. Thanks to being around 200 kilograms lighter, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid outpaces its BMW competitor. Fueled by an improved V8 and a stronger electric motor, the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 295 km/h.

Under the cargo space, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid houses a bigger 25.9-kWh battery. According to Porsche, a new 11-kW onboard charger could cut down the charging time to less than 2.5 hours, given the right power source. Moreover, the electric range is enhanced, reaching up to 82 km compared to the previous 42 km.

Post-facelift, buyers have two chassis options for the Cayenne—both adaptive. One comes with a steel spring while the Turbo E-Hybrid is equipped with air suspension. The latter includes new 2-chamber, 2-valve technology aimed at broadening the spectrum between Comfort and Sport Plus modes. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus comes as a standard feature. Optional add-ons include PDCC roll stabilization and rear-axle steering.

The Turbo E-Hybrid differentiates itself with a unique front end, featuring expansive air intakes. Its wheel arches and lower rear fascia are painted in body color. Red brake calipers and twin dual exhaust outlets contribute to its distinct appearance. Standard equipment includes HD-Matrix Design LED headlights.

The interior highlights include a Race-Tex ceiling, heated GT Sport steering wheel, aluminum-accented doors and dashboard, and 18-way adjustable leather sports seats. Fourteen-way adjustable Comfort seats are also an option.

Porsche has also integrated a new 15-watt, air-conditioned wireless charging pad. Interior improvements align with those seen in the refreshed 2024 Cayenne range, like the revamped dashboard that now hosts a 12.6-inch curved driver’s display and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen.

The 2024 Turbo E-Hybrid is the second in a series of three hybrid models Porsche plans to roll out in 2023. It is available for order in almost all Porsche markets, with a starting price of €176,324 in Germany, VAT and location-specific equipment included. The Coupe version starts at €179,775.

Stateside, the new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is set to arrive at dealerships in the second quarter of 2024. Its starting price is $148,550 (price includes the $1,650 destination charge). The E-Hybrid Coupe version is slightly pricier, starting at $153,050.
