The forthcoming Renault Scenic E-Tech made a shadowy appearance in a teaser image, showcasing its split LED headlamps and a distinct grille design. Despite prior glimpses of the Scenic E-Tech with minimal disguise, the teaser didn't offer any surprises. The model is slated to break away from the traditional minivan form, opting for a contemporary crossover look with dimensions of 4,490 mm (176.8 inches) that will house a roomy five-passenger interior.
Renault states the Scenic E-Tech will be “the first production car to embody the brand’s new sustainable development strategy: on environment, safety and inclusion.” The implication is that we can anticipate a considerable application of eco-friendly materials for the cabin and cutting-edge safety features courtesy of the Renault Group.
Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric
The Scenic E-Tech is projected to utilize the CMF-EV platform, thereby situating itself above the smaller Megane E-Tech in Renault's electric vehicle range. Unlike the front-wheel-drive-only Megane E-Tech, sources indicate the Scenic E-Tech will offer a dual electric motor AWD configuration, churning out a total of 389 hp (290 kW / 394 PS), akin to the closely related Nissan Ariya.
Turning to the Grand Kangoo, this model will be the extended-wheelbase variant of the standard Kangoo minivan, expected to feature a three-row, seven-seat configuration along with ample cargo space. This model is predicted to resemble last year's Renault Hippie Caviar Motel Concept but will focus on passenger comfort and initially will house an internal combustion engine—until its fully electric "E-Tech" version is introduced.
In addition to the Munich Messe IAA Summit, Renault will exhibit the Scenic E-Tech, Rafale, Espace, and Austral in the company's "electro pop rnlt" display area at the IAA Open Space located in Odeonsplatz.
