The new Gigahub is a joint project of bp pulse, The EV Network (EVN) and NEC Group. The facility has 30 ultra fast 150kW and 150 fast 7kW charging points.

The Gigahub will help serve the seven million visitors to the NEC campus each year, as well as a wide range of other road users who make up the area's average annual traffic of 60 million. It will be accessed via the main NEC Campus through road, less than 1 mile from Junction 6 of the M42 and just 2.4 miles from Junction 7A of the M6.

The Gigahub features 16 ultra-fast 300kW DC chargers located in two accessible bays. These ultra-fast chargers are capable of charging 30 EVs simultaneously. The site also has a further 150 points for 7kW charging, including additional designated accessible bays.

As a bonus, all visitors to the charging facility will have access to a new Starbucks Coffee drive-through, combining fast charging with convenience to provide the services EV drivers want while they wait.

Jaguar has supported the opening of the Gigahub in Birmingham. During August, a fleet of 32 Jaguar I-Paces were simultaneously used at the facility to test the infrastructure in terms of power distribution, rapid charging and vehicle connection.
