Honda has disclosed further information on its 2024 Prologue, tailored for the North American audience, emphasizing that its dual-motor AWD setup will generate roughly 288 hp.

Initial design sketches of the Prologue were made public in May 2022, followed by actual photographs in October. Close to a year after the initial tease, the company has shared more specifics.

The starting price is set to be in the "upper $40,000s," exclusive of any incentives or tax credits. This implies a price range of between $45,000 and $50,000. Full pricing information will be available nearer to the vehicle’s release, with pre-orders set to commence later this year and the first units expected to ship in early 2024.

In addition to approximate pricing, Honda declared that the SUV's dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup will yield an estimated 288 hp (215 kW / 292 PS) and 333 lb-ft (451 Nm) of torque. A front-wheel-drive version will also be on offer, delivering "confident acceleration and maximum efficiency."

As for the driving range, one version is said to offer around 300 miles (483 km), thanks to an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery. The vehicle will also support DC fast charging at up to 155 kW, allowing for 65 miles (105 km) of added range in just ten minutes.

Regarding charging options, Honda has indicated that every Prologue purchaser can opt for one of three bundled charging plans. The first option is a $750 credit for public charging stations, aimed at urban residents and current EV owners. The other choices are a 7.6 kW portable charger with a $250 installation incentive and a $300 public charging credit, or an 11.5 kW home charger with a $500 installation incentive and a $100 public charging credit.

The design is not new, but it’s worth mentioning that the SUV features a streamlined exterior with smooth lines and flowing shapes. Standard 19-inch wheels are provided, with the option to upgrade to 21-inch wheels.

Dimensionally, the vehicle has a length of 192 inches (4,877 mm) and a wheelbase of 121.8 inches (3,094 mm), making it 2.9 inches (74 mm) longer than the Honda Passport, despite having a 10.9-inch (277 mm) longer wheelbase.

On the inside, Honda successfully concealed the vehicle's GM roots, with the most evident clue being an OnStar button. The SUV will be available in three trim levels. Even the base model comes with an 11-inch digital dashboard and an 11.3-inch multimedia system featuring built-in Google services, including Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Google Play store.

The interior also includes a multi-level center console with industry-leading storage space and dual cup holders designed to accommodate 32 oz. water bottles. A "pocket-style wireless smartphone charger," similar to the one in the Kia K5, is also a feature.

The Prologue EX variant offers heated front seats, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with two-way lumbar support, gloss black accents, and a dual-zone climate control system.

For those interested in additional amenities, the mid-level Touring trim provides a leather-clad steering wheel, seats available in black or light gray leather, a hands-free power tailgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium 12-speaker Bose sound system.
