Toyota is bringing the 2024 Land Cruiser to the Japan Mobility Show next week, but as you can see, it's not the regular LC 250. Gone is the traditional round steering wheel to make way for what the auto giant calls the "NEO Steer." It takes inspiration from motorcycle handlebars by integrating acceleration and braking controls into the steering wheel.
The yoke-like steering wheel allows for hand-operated driving, making the 2024 Land Cruiser accessible to drivers with lower-limb impairments. The new controls are mounted on the right side of the yoke and effectively replace the gas and brake pedals, allowing the driver to sit more comfortably and enter and exit the vehicle with ease.

Toyota is putting on quite a show at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, bringing a plethora of concepts, most of them electric. There's an all-electric Land Cruiser Se concept, a mid-size electric pickup truck, a three-wheeled concept, and even a quad-engine off-roader made for the moon.
The 2023 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo will open its doors to the public on October 26.
