The Cadillac Optiq, set to debut in 2024 as a 2025 model, marks the brand's latest venture into electric vehicles (EVs), following the Lyriq, Celestiq, and Escalade IQ. As Cadillac's North American entry-level EV, the Optiq is a luxury compact SUV positioned beneath the Lyriq.

Cadillac has yet to reveal comprehensive details about the Optiq, but they emphasize its "spirited driving dynamics" tailored for global luxury customers. More information on features and pricing is expected next year.

The Optiq shares design elements with its larger counterpart, the Lyriq, but introduces unique features like smaller grilles, distinct headlights and taillights, and a special C-pillar design. The exterior was first spotted in China, disclosed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

While the U.S. and China versions appear identical, powertrain specifications might differ. In China, the Optiq will offer single or dual-motor Ultium Drive options with Ultium batteries. The configurations include two rear-drive options (201 hp/150 kW and 241 hp/180 kW) and an all-wheel drive producing 283 hp (211 kW) and 343 pound-feet (465 Nm) of torque.

Built on GM's BEV3 platform, similar to Chevrolet Equinox EV and Buick Electra E5/E4, the Optiq is slightly smaller than the Lyriq. It measures 189.8 inches (4,820 mm) in length, 75.3 inches (1,912 mm) in width, and 64.7 (1,643 mm) inches in height, with a 116.3-inch (2,954 mm) wheelbase, identical to its platform counterparts.

Pricing for the 2025 Optiq remains speculative but is expected to be lower than the 2024 Lyriq, starting at $58,590. Given the pricing of the Chevy Equinox 2RS FWD at $48,995, the Optiq, being a premium model, might be priced similarly or higher.
