Introducing the Nissan Ariya Nismo, the high-performance iteration of the Japanese automaker's flagship electric vehicle. Unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show, this new model is based on the Ariya e-4ORCE variant and is set to debut in Japan this spring.

The most noticeable changes to the Ariya are visual enhancements. Starting at the front, Nissan has refined the front bumper, giving it a more aggressive appearance with an extended splitter featuring a red accent. The rocker panels have also received adjustments, now featuring a red strip, along with the wing mirrors.

The rear of the Ariya Nismo showcases even more significant modifications compared to the front. It boasts a more prominent roof spoiler and a striking lip spoiler on the tailgate. Nismo has also introduced a new gloss black bumper for the electric vehicle, complemented by a red accent. A set of distinctive 20-inch aluminum wheels has been specifically developed for this model.

Inside the cabin of the Ariya Nismo, several changes are evident. Notably, Nismo-branded seats have been installed, and you'll find red accents on the center console and dashboard, accompanied by red contrast stitching and a small Nismo logo on the dashboard.

In Japan, two versions of the Ariya Nismo will be available, though it remains uncertain if both variants will be offered globally. The base Nismo B6 e-4ORCE delivers 270 kW (362 hp) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque through its two electric motors, powered by a 66 kWh battery pack. This version has a weight of 2,080 kg (4,585 lbs). For those seeking even more performance, there's the Nismo B9 e-4ORCE, equipped with a 91 kWh battery, 320 kW (429 hp), 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque, and varying in weight between 2,210 kg (4,872 lbs) and 2,220 kg (4,894 lbs) depending on the specification.

Nissan has not yet disclosed specific performance figures for the SUV. However, they have announced an exclusive Nismo driving mode designed to maximize response, giving the Ariya an auditory experience reminiscent of a Formula E race car. The automaker also claims that this model offers improved cornering capabilities compared to its lesser variants.
