These electric crossovers, known as Honda E:NS2 and E:NP2, are designed for the Chinese market and share a similar foundation. However, they will be available from both Honda's joint venture with GAC and Donfeng, each with its unique styling touches.
Let's delve into some key details about the Honda E:NS2 and E:NP2, courtesy of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Honda E:NS2
Donfeng's NS2 stands out with its vertically-mounted boomerang-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) positioned ahead of each front wheel, a full-width rear light bar that descends gracefully at each side, and 'Honda' branding on the trunk panel.
On the other hand, the NP2 model features headlights with horizontally arranged DRL blades and a black panel between the two lamp units. The rear lights follow a similar design, with the 'Honda' lettering raised on the black panel between the lamps. A common design element in both versions is the broad horizontal bars on the front and rear lower bumpers, giving them a futuristic air conditioning unit appearance.
Despite their SUV-like appearance, both models have a sloping rear roofline that leans more towards the crossover category.
Honda E:NP2
According to MIIT filings, both vehicles share the same specifications, including a 2,735 mm wheelbase, a width of 1,840 mm, and a height of 1,570 mm. The difference between the NS2 and NP2 is merely 1 mm in length. Additionally, both models are powered by a single motor producing 204 hp (150 kW) and come equipped with a 68.8 kWh battery, matching the concepts' promises.
With the MIIT's publication of images and information, it's evident that the official launch is imminent, and Chinese consumers can expect to see these crossovers on the market later this year.
