The idea of the Audi RS 6 Avant GT goes back to the apprentice project RS 6 GTO concept from 2020. Twelve apprentices learning to work as bodywork and vehicle construction mechanics, automotive mechanics, automotive painters, and tooling mechanics worked on the project for six months with the support of Audi Design. They took most of their inspiration from the legendary Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car from 1989.
The new Audi RS 6 Avant GT distinguishes itself among other models in its lineup, namely the RS 6 Avant and the RS 6 Avant performance version. The Audi racing livery, featuring the iconic red, white, and black color scheme, along with the striking 22-inch wheels, draws inspiration from the classic 90 Quattro. In the United States, this distinctive look will be the sole option available to buyers, while other markets will have the privilege of selecting from a range of paint options.

For the first time, the RS6 Avant GT boasts a carbon fiber hood, available in both partially and fully exposed options. Enhancing aerodynamics, a fresh fender design opens up outlets behind the front wheels, allowing for improved airflow. Adding a touch of style, GT badges can be found adorning the exterior.
The interior exudes elegance with sleek black leather and Alcantara upholstery, highlighted by exquisite red quilted stitching on the seats. It features new sport bucket seats with carbon backing and limited edition badging in the center console, indicating its rarity.

The Avant GT utilizes the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine found in the Avant Performance. It generates an impressive output of 463 kW (630 PS) and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. However, with some fine-tuning, the GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds, shaving off 0.3 seconds compared to the RS 6 Avant. Furthermore, it reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) in a swift 11.5 seconds, surpassing the Performance variant by 1.5 seconds. The Avant GT boasts a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph).
Beyond its impressive straight-line speed, the RS6 GT excels in handling, courtesy of a 10-millimeter reduction in ride height achieved through a manually adjustable coilover suspension. Additionally, the GT boasts stiffer stabilizer bars, three-way electronically adjustable dampers, and an upgraded differential with increased rear bias. Notably, it is equipped with grippier Continental Sport Contact 7 tires.

Audi intends to produce a limited run of 660 RS6 GT models globally. These vehicles will be partially hand-built, with the carbon hood, fenders, bumper, spoiler, suspension, and exterior wrap crafted by designers and engineers in Germany. Out of this total, only 85 units will be available in the US, and just 7 in Canada.
The Audi RS 6 Avant GT is expected to be available for delivery in the second quarter of 2024, with a starting price of 219,355 euros in Germany. Pricing details for the US market have not been announced yet.
