The Avenger is available from 2023 in all-electric and hybrid versions, as well as with an internal combustion engine. However, all of them are front-wheel drive.

Jeep will finally bring an all-wheel drive (4x4) version of the Avenger SUV to the market in late 2024. This vehicle will be called the Jeep Avenger 4xe and you can see its sketch above.

The heart of the new version will be the 4xe hybrid technology. The SUV will combine a 136 hp (100 kW) internal combustion engine with two electric motors of 21 kW each, capable of powering all 4 wheels and providing up to 190 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. Thanks to Power Looping technology, the new Avenger 4xe should guarantee all-wheel drive traction regardless of battery level.

The 48-volt mild hybrid system also provides all-electric driving at low speeds in combination with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (e-DCS6) and an integrated electric motor.

The advent of all-wheel drive will give the Jeep Avenger a clear competitive advantage over rivals. Models like the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Ford Puma and Volkswagen T-Cross are front-wheel drive. Moreover, other Stellantis Alliance brands are also yet to have a powertrain like the upcoming Avenger 4xe. Therefore, we can only guess for now how much the novelty will cost. Considering that the Jeep Avenger e-Hybrid with front-wheel drive starts at 27,000 euros, the new Avenger 3xe is likely to get a starting price of around 30,000 euros.

Eric Laforge, Head of Jeep brand in Europe, commented: “The new Jeep Avenger 4xe represents a turning point for the brand. The latest version of our successful model brings together the compactness and versatility of Avenger with the performance of the all-wheel drive system. The result is an unparallel capability for a more dynamic driving experience. The new Avenger 4xe is completing the brand’s offering of 4x4 SUV in all segments”.
