The British Defender brand will introduce a new version of the Defender SUV with a V8 Twin Turbo engine in 2024.

The new Defender OCTA will be powered by a V8 Twin Turbo petrol engine with hybrid technology (Mild Hybrid) and 6D Dynamics air suspension. Jaguar Land Rover claims this suspension offers "extreme performance on any terrain" thanks to its innovative pitch and roll control system. It will not only be useful off-road, but also maintain a near horizontal body position during acceleration, braking and cornering on the road

Engine specifications have not yet been confirmed. However, it is already known that it will be a 4.4-litre BMW engine. In the Range Rover Sport SV, this power unit develops 635bhp.

The SUV gets its name OCTA in honour of the diamond - the hardest natural substance on earth. The flagship version of the model will receive a special diamond-shaped mug pattern placed on a number of interior and exterior elements.

The vehicle is being tested in Sweden, the deserts of Dubai, on the Nürburgring and off-road in Moab. The new Defender OCTA will be unveiled later this year, but no specific date has yet been given.
