Isuzu presented a prototype of the D-MAX BEV at the Bangkok International Motor Show, running from March 27 to April 7.
The D-MAX BEV boasts 130 kW of power, and a 66.9 kWh battery. It also offers a payload capacity of 1,000 kilograms and can tow up to 3.5 tonnes. With features such as full-time four-wheel drive (4WD) system, newly developed e-axles with high-power electric motors, along with a robust frame and body design, this model is designed to perform comparably to existing diesel models.
The design of the D-MAX BEV is based on its combustion engine counterpart but includes minor differences that set it apart as an electric model.
Isuzu's drive toward electromobility doesn't stop with the D-MAX BEV; it extends into other areas as well. The company already has a battery-electric commercial vehicle known as the Elf Model and has announced future projects including a Giga Fuel Cell electric truck in collaboration with Honda and an electric bus project partnering with Toyota and Hino.
