While all major car manufacturers around the world are preparing for the end of the internal combustion engine, which is planned sooner or later depending on the region, Aston Martin is introducing a new V12 engine.

The British brand has developed a new twelve-cylinder engine that will now be transplanted into the manufacturer's most exclusive and limited models.

Why? Aston Martin justifies the move with a sense of tradition. The brand's flagships have been powered by twelve-cylinder engines for 25 years. The engine is "a showcase for exceptional in-house engineering, it is a defiant defender of emotional engagement," according to the manufacturer.

The data sheet for the twin-turbocharged unit states 835 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. The new engine is the result of a complete redesign. By the way, the displacement is not mentioned yet, but we can assume that it is an evolution of the 5.2-liter engines from the current DBS or Vantage.

Hardware highlights of the new V12 engine include a strengthened cylinder block and conrods, redesigned cylinder heads incorporating reprofiled camshafts, plus new intake and exhaust ports. Repositioned spark plugs and new higher flowrate fuel injectors deliver optimised combustion for class leading performance and efficiency gains. In addition, new higher speed, reduced inertia turbochargers deliver increased performance and throttle response.

It will make its first appearance in a new flagship model at the heart of a "true dynamic disruptor" that will debut later in 2024, when more technical details will be revealed.
