Citroen sells the Jumper / Relay LCV in an unconventional configuration with two front ends. Each cabin has its own powertrain and gearbox, allowing the vehicle to be driven both ways.

The 'Back to Back' configuration of the Citroën Relay van was seen on Citroën's UK commercial vehicle website. It is aimed at third-party companies that build motorhomes, campers or specialty vehicles to reduce production and shipping costs.

The Relay Back to Back van features two front ends of vans attached on a temporary structure and operates as a front-wheel-drive vehicle. This unique build strategy lowers manufacturing costs by eliminating the need for the chassis cab rear end. Also, it reduces shipping costs because it occupies less space than separate vehicles would. Furthermore, this design provides businesses the flexibility to create custom rear ends tailored to their specific needs.

The Back to Back model is exclusively available with two identical 2.2-liter BlueHDi four-cylinder turbo-diesel engines, each producing 140 horsepower. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

Pricing for the Citroen Relay Back to Back starts at £36,018 in the UK. It is not clear if this amount is for each of the two halves or for the whole thing, because that would make it a good deal. For a good measure, the cheapest version of a conventional Citroen Relay Chassis Cab starts at £36,882 in the same market.
