The partnership will introduce three new battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) across B and C segments. By utilizing this specialized platform, Audi expects to cut the time-to-market for these models by more than 30%.
Expanding on the benefits of this collaboration, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner highlighted the synergetic potential of the partnership. He stated, "We have a clear and common goal: to combine the best of our two companies to the full advantage of our Chinese customers."
The leadership for this significant venture will be under Fermin Soneira, who brings over 25 years of experience from Volkswagen Group to his new role as CEO of the joint project. Soneira previously oversaw Audi’s Electric Models Product Line from A to C Segment.
Besides launching new models on this upcoming platform, Audi plans to maintain its existing vehicle lineup in China and continue introducing BEVs based on multiple platforms including MEB and PPE architecture. Currently in its portfolio are models like the Q4 e-tron and Q5 e-tron already making their mark in China’s burgeoning electric vehicle sector.
