The 2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport made its global debut recently at this year's Nürburgring 24-hour race. The sporty version of the hatchback stands out thanks to its sharper exterior design, an enhanced interior, impressive performance data and high-end sports suspension.

Volkswagen unveiled substantial upgrades to the car’s design. The front end now appears more powerful and distinctive thanks to its revamped LED Plus headlights and an illuminated VW logo—a first-time addition. Additionally, a larger rear spoiler enhances the vehicle's aerodynamics by ensuring maximum downforce, complemented by redesigned LED tail lights.

The new Clubsport rolls on "Queenstown” alloy wheels standard with a fresh pattern reminiscent of the iconic Detroit wheels from earlier generations. For those seeking optimized performance, "Warmenau" forged wheels are available as an optional feature. These wheels weigh only 8 kg each rim, helping to reduce unsprung masses and improve vehicle dynamics.

Inside, updates continue with a newly developed multifunction leather sports steering wheel and an intuitive new infotainment system that includes voice assistant integration with ChatGPT.

Under the hood lies an EA888 LK3 evo4 turbocharged engine boasting a torque of 400 Nm and offering up to 300 PS (221 kW) power output. Remarkably spirited, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. Buyers also have options regarding top speed: a standard limit of 250 km/h or an increased limit of 267 km/h is available with the optional Race package.

Moreover, Volkswagen introduced special driving profiles designed specifically for the rigors of Nürburgring’s demanding track. This includes a bespoke DCC adaptive chassis control setup enhancing viral dynamics through modified Vehicle Dynamics Management settings tailored for lateral dynamics performance.

While European customers will be able to purchase this updated model later in the year, American markets will not take part in its release due to undisclosed reasons.
