The truck will travel 600 km on a single charge, letting drivers work all day without stopping to recharge.

The company plans to release the new model in the second half of 2025. It'll use Volvo's e-axle driveline technology, which allows for bigger batteries. This new truck will join Volvo's lineup of eight battery-electric models.

Volvo Trucks has already delivered over 3,800 electric trucks to customers in 46 countries. The company aims to lead the way in long-distance electric transport and cut carbon emissions.

Roger Alm, the President of Volvo Trucks, said:

"Our new electric flagship will be a great complement to our wide range of electric trucks and enable zero-exhaust emission transport also for the longer distances."

The new truck's impressive range comes from three main improvements: the e-axle driveline tech, better battery efficiency, and a more effective powertrain.

Volvo Trucks isn't stopping at battery-electric vehicles. They're working on a three-part plan to reach net-zero emissions by 2040. This plan includes battery electric trucks, fuel cell electric trucks, and engines that run on renewable fuels.

The transport sector currently makes up seven percent of global carbon emissions. Volvo's goal to reach net-zero emissions by 2040 could really help reduce this. Their work on sustainable trucking paves the way for a greener future in the industry.
