Ford has made its hands-free highway driving assistant even better. The company's new BlueCruise 1.4 will let drivers go longer without touching the wheel.

The updated system will come in select 2025 Ford and Lincoln models, including the F-150. It's got a new motion controller that helps cars stay in their lanes better, even in bad weather.

BlueCruise 1.4 will also slow down automatically for curves. This means drivers can keep their hands off the wheel in places where older versions might have turned off.

Ford says the new system can go up to 8 times longer without interruption compared to BlueCruise 1.0, and 5 times longer than BlueCruise 1.2.

The system still lets drivers change lanes hands-free by using the turn signal. It can also move within the lane to give more space to nearby vehicles.

BlueCruise 1.4 will cost $700 for the first year in new cars. After that, it's $800 a year or $75 a month.

Tesla's Full Self-Driving system is BlueCruise's main rival. Tesla's system works on city streets too, not just highways. It costs $8,000 to buy outright or $99 a month.

Ford has put BlueCruise in 492,000 vehicles around the world. Drivers have used it for over 244 million hands-free miles so far.

The company plans to update older cars with the new system later, but hasn't said which models will get it yet.
