According to the results of ANCAP crash tests, the Chinese crossover Chery Tiggo 4 Pro received the maximum 5 stars. This came as a surprise for a car of this class, as usually more expensive models show similar results.
The crossover has passed a series of tests:
- Frontal impact (64 km/h with 40% overlap)
- Side impacts (including passenger side impact)
- Rear impact simulation (whiplash risk assessment)
- Safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists
- Effectiveness of driver assistance systems
Test results:
- Protection of adult occupants - 88 per cent
- Child protection - 87 per cent
- Safety of pedestrians and cyclists - 79 per cent
- Driver assistance systems - 85 per cent
The body stability during side impacts was particularly impressive - the crossover received the maximum number of points. In the full overlap frontal impact test, Tiggo 4 Pro received 7.48 points out of 8 possible, which is also a high score.
It is worth noting that the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro in the version for the Australian market has 7 airbags, including a central airbag, and the front of the car has an aluminium anti-roll bar that effectively dissipates impact energy. At the same time, 60% of the body is made of high-strength steel.
How electronic systems work
- Lane Support System received a maximum of 3 points for lane keeping
- Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) - 3.75 out of 4 possible points
- Driver fatigue and speed limit monitoring systems work reliably
All safety systems worked properly during the crash tests.
