The "regular" Ford Mustang with a gasoline engine once again outpaces the electric crossover Mustang Mach-E in the number of cars sold in the USA. This was revealed in the company’s financial report.

While analysts predict a slowdown in the US auto market due to tariffs and price increases, Ford reported growth: in the first half of the year, brand sales in the USA increased by 6.6% compared to the same period in 2024. However, in the electric vehicle segment, the picture is different - demand is noticeably declining.

From January to June, Ford sold 21,785 units of Mustang Mach-E - 2% less than a year ago. In the second quarter, the decline was significantly more serious: only 10,178 cars compared to 12,645 for the same period in 2024 (-19.5%).

Against this backdrop, the gasoline Mustang has revived. Despite an overall sales decline of 14.2% for the half-year (23,551 units), in the second quarter, the model added 3.2%, selling 14,174 - more than the Mach-E. Thus, the "gasoline" has once again outpaced the "electric" in quarterly figures, although it lags behind for the half-year results.

The worst situation is with the electric E-Transit van: only 4,174 units sold in six months (-33.8%) and just 418 units in the second quarter (-87.7%!). Interest in the electric F-150 Lightning pickup is also declining: 13,029 units sold in half a year (-16.7%), of which 5,842 in the second quarter (-26.1%).

In summary: in the second quarter, Ford’s electric vehicle sales in the USA fell by 31.4%, and over six months - by 11.8%. But not everything is so bad - hybrids, on the contrary, are on the rise: +23.5% in the second quarter (66,448 units) and +27.4% for the half-year (117,521 units). It is precisely on them that Ford is currently betting while awaiting market stabilization.
