Jaguar Land Rover will be the first automaker to serially use tires with over 70% of renewable and recycled materials.

The new Pirelli P Zero tires, developed specifically for JLR, will be available this year on new Range Rover models with 22-inch wheels as standard equipment. Later, the innovation will also appear in other brands of the company.

The tires contain silica derived from rice husks - a byproduct of rice processing. Plant-based resins made from agricultural waste and used cooking oils are also used in the rubber compound instead of traditional petroleum-based components.

The composition includes recycled carbon black derived from recycled old tires, as well as recycled steel, which increases rigidity and durability. All this allows for a reduction in reliance on primary natural resources without compromising performance.

The tires also contain natural rubber certified by FSC, confirming the sustainable and ethical origin of the raw material. This continues the JLR initiative announced last year to implement FSC-certified tires across the model range.

The company emphasizes that all recycled and primary components will have confirmed certification from third parties. In the future, JLR and Pirelli aim to increase the share of renewable and recycled materials in tires to 100%.
