The charging station "Sichuan Yuanqi Xingguang Heavy-Duty Truck Megawatt Supercharging Station" is located in Sichuan Province. It has nearly 200 connection points, including 18 megawatt devices manufactured in-house.

According to Huawei, the total capacity of the complex will reach 100 MW, although only 50 MW will be available in the first phase. This is enough to supply about 700 trucks with up to 300,000 kWh of electricity daily.

18 charging stations with a power of 1.44 MW, 108 stations with 500 kW, and 72 with 720 kW have been installed. Charging stations with lower power enable battery recharging during regular stops, while the megawatt stations offer ultra-fast recharging for compatible vehicles. Theoretically, 24 kWh of energy can be transferred in one minute – equivalent to about 100 km of range for a heavy truck. A 400 kWh battery can be charged to 80% within 15 minutes.

Energy supply is also realized through the use of Huawei’s own solutions, including solar panels over the parking lots that deliver up to 1 MW peak power.

The choice of location is not accidental: The region is known for its sand and gravel pits, where a large number of trucks operate on short and medium distances, making them ideal candidates for electrification.

In addition to convenience, the new system is expected to reduce costs for transport companies. According to CarNewsChina, the savings could be about 1.5 renminbi for every 100 km. Over a distance of 100,000 km, this amounts to savings of up to 150,000 renminbi (approx. $21,000) per year for a truck.

Previously, Huawei announced the establishment of a network of high-performance charging stations for trucks in collaboration with industry partners.
