The main features of the new model: it is produced only in a hybrid version and combines the advantages of an electric vehicle with the ability for long trips. The total range, considering both the internal combustion engine and the battery, is 1200 km. At the same time, the XC70 supports fast charging with direct current: the battery is replenished to 80% in 23 minutes. Another "electric vehicle" option is bidirectional charging, which allows powering external devices and camping equipment. However, the V2L adapter must be purchased separately.

Volvo notes that the XC70 is primarily designed for the Chinese market, where there is high demand for hybrids with long electric ranges. The model will later appear in Europe. It is unlikely to be seen in the USA due to 100% tariffs on Chinese cars, making supplies improbable.
Volvo XC70
Volvo has not yet disclosed exact specifications, but some data can be gleaned from the related Lynk & Co 08 crossover produced by the Geely group. In the top version with a 39.6 kWh battery and one electric motor (218 hp), it can travel up to 245 km on CLTC. The hybrid system includes a 1.5-liter turbo engine, with a maximum power reaching 381 hp. There is also an all-wheel-drive version with two motors producing 593 hp, which has a slightly lower range of 220 km. A modification with a 21.2 kWh battery and an electric range of approximately 120 km is also available.
Most likely, the XC70 will receive the same modifications of powertrains and batteries. In China, prices are reportedly starting just above $30,000 - more expensive than the Lynk & Co 08 ($29,000). In Europe, the crossover will apparently be significantly more expensive.
