The Chinese company Xpeng decided not to wait for favors from the market and introduced the updated family of its sedan P7. The presentation, which took place on March 18, 2026, showed that the brand is betting on "pure vision" and computing power, ignoring the trend of bulky lidars that spoil aerodynamics and design. The updated lineup got new Max and Ultra trims, as well as three new body colors: "Starry Red," "Dark Night Black," and "Nebula White."
Smarter than a driver? Second-generation VLA model
The main feature of this release is the transition to the new generation ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The Xpeng P7 Ultra and UltraSE variants are now equipped with the second-generation VLA (Visual Language Action) model. The manufacturer calls it a "large model of the physical world," which should bring the car closer to Level 4 autonomy (L4). In practice, this means that the vehicle has eliminated the intermediate stage of "translating" visual data into commands - now AI perceives the road almost like a human.

Developers claim that the system can recognize non-standard vehicles, independently bypass accident sites, pass small animals at night, and slow down in advance before bumps. All this works thanks to three Turing AI chips, providing an incredible computing power of 2250 TOPS. Most modern competitors operate with significantly more modest figures.
Technical specifications and dynamics
The top variant 750 4WD received two electric motors with a total power of 594 hp and a torque of 695 Nm. This allows the sedan to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 230 km/h. Besides the power, Xpeng worked on the chassis: a Sport+ mode appeared, making the suspension 12% stiffer, reducing body roll by 6%. For fans of eye-catching starts, Launch Control and Boost mode are provided, giving a temporary power surge for 20 seconds.

5C charging and autonomy
The entire series is built on an 800-volt architecture, which allowed the implementation of super-fast 5C charging. Official data is impressive: the version with a lithium-ion battery can replenish the range by 525 km in just 10 minutes. Buyers are offered three range options according to the CLTC cycle: 702 km, 750 km, and 820 km. The choice depends on the type of battery (LFP or nickel-cobalt-manganese) and the availability of all-wheel drive.
Prices
The release of the updated P7 right now is not accidental. The company is clearly trying to capture the audience's attention ahead of the launch of the new generation Xiaomi SU7. Xpeng's pricing policy looks aggressive:
- 702 Max: $29,500
- 820 Max: $32,400
- 750 4WD Max: $35,300
- 750 4WD Wing Ultra: $43,700
Considering that within the first six minutes after the orders opened, the company received over 10,000 applications, the strategy might work. However, market experts remind: it is important not only to collect pre-orders but also to maintain sales pace, which the previous iteration of the P7 model showed a decline at the end of last year.
