Skoda has locked in May 19, 2026, as the global reveal date for its Epiq electric crossover, with the event set for Zurich. The compact SUV sits on Volkswagen Group's MEB+ platform — shared with the upcoming VW ID.Polo and Cupra Raval — and targets the fast-growing sub-€30,000 European EV segment. No US launch is planned; VW Group has confirmed it will not bring the ID.Polo to North America, and the Epiq follows the same policy.
Powertrain and range
Three power outputs cover the Epiq lineup: 114 hp (85 kW), 133 hp (99 kW), and 211 hp (155 kW). The top version hits 0–60 mph in roughly 7 seconds (0–100 km/h in 7.4 sec). All versions are front-wheel drive only — a deliberate choice that also frees up more cargo space.
Battery options split into 2 packs. The base uses a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry cell, delivering about 196 miles on the WLTP cycle (EU range-test standard; no EPA figure exists). The larger 52 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) pack stretches that to 267 miles WLTP. DC fast-charging peaks at 133 kW, with a 10–80% charge taking roughly 23 minutes on the NMC pack or 28 minutes on the LFP.

Size and cargo
At 164 inches long and 64 inches tall, the Epiq is slightly shorter but taller than a VW ID.3. The cargo hold is the standout detail: 16.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats, expanding to 47.5 cubic feet with them folded — a significant edge over comparably sized hatchbacks. Inside, a 13-inch touchscreen anchors the dash alongside a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster, with physical shortcut buttons retained below the screen.
Pricing and what to consider instead
European pricing is expected to open around €26,000 (roughly $28,000 pre-tax at current exchange rates), on par with the petrol-powered Skoda Kamiq. UK pricing is confirmed at approximately £25,000 — per Autocar UK — with deliveries targeted for the second half of 2026 out of Skoda's Pamplona, Spain plant.
For those interested in a similarly sized affordable EV, the US market currently offers the Chevrolet Equinox EV from $34,995 — potentially $27,495 after the $7,500 IRA federal tax credit (Section 30D) for eligible buyers — and the Hyundai Kona Electric from $33,550. Neither matches the Epiq's footprint exactly, but both are available at dealers now and carry EPA-rated range figures rather than WLTP estimates.
The Epiq's full spec sheet, trim structure, and official photos land on May 19.
