Aito is an electric vehicle brand created by Huawei and Seres. In March 2022, Aito began selling its first M5 crossover model in China. And now it has introduced a second crossover M7 with a similar technology to increase the power reserve.
Aito offers several versions of the M7 to choose from, starting at 319,800 yuan ($47,765) for the most affordable and 379,800 yuan ($56,595) for the top version.
The rear-wheel drive version of the Aito M7 is powered by a 200 kW (271 hp) electric motor and a 90 kW (122 hp) 1.5-litre petrol engine. The internal combustion engine in this bundle is used to operate the generator.
The all-wheel drive version of the Aito M7 has an additional 130 kW (176 hp) electric motor at the front. Thus, the combined power of the two motors reaches 330 kW (448 hp), which is enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
The M7 is equipped with CATL lithium-ion traction batteries, which are relatively small for a 5-meter crossover with a capacity of 40.06 kWh. Purely on electric traction, the rear-wheel drive Aito M7 travels up to 195 km in the WLTC test cycle, and 165 km with all-wheel drive.
The full power reserve when using its own charge of the traction battery and a fully filled tank of gasoline reaches 1220 km and 1100 km for the rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, respectively.
Aito M7 is already available for order in China. Consumer test drives of the crossover will begin on July 23, and sales will begin in August.
