Honda introduced the ZR-V compact crossover in Japan. Under the new designation is a car that is already sold in America under the name HR-V, but there are some differences between them.

The Japanese Honda ZR-V has the same body as the American Honda HR-V. At the same time, the novelty has a more aggressive design of the radiator grille with vertical bars in the style of Maserati Grecale, a different front bumper and headlights without the orange side reflectors that are mandatory in America. In addition, the crossover received fairly large exhaust pipes.

The interior of the ZR-V as a whole repeats the interior of its overseas counterpart, but instead of a large automatic transmission mode shift lever, it has small keys. Another feature of the new crossover is the burgundy interior with orange stitching, which creates a cozy atmosphere.

Compared to the American HR-V, the most important difference is in the power plant. While the North American model is powered exclusively by the 158 hp 2.0-litre petrol engine, the new model for the Japanese market gets a hybrid system from the Civic e:HEV. A 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine will be offered as an option.

The exact specifications of the Honda ZR-V will be announced closer to the start of sales in September 2022. By the way, in Europe, a similar crossover in a hybrid version will appear in 2023 and will take a place in the lineup between the HR-V and the next generation CR-V.
