Porsche test driver Lars Kern completed the 20.8 km Nürburgring lap in a Taycan Turbo S in just 7 minutes and 33 seconds.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo S was equipped with a new performance kit and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) adaptive chassis. With the exception of the mandatory roll cage and racing seats, the car is completely stock and weighs the same as the stock car.

The specified performance package includes 21-inch RS-Spyder design wheels with road-approved Pirelli P Zero Corsa sports tires, as well as updated Porsche 4D Chassis Control software for these tires. The system analyzes and synchronizes all elements of the Taycan chassis in real time.

Customers can order a Taycan Turbo S with this update through Porsche Tequipment, but only in Germany for now. The package, priced at €13,377, is only available for the 2023 Taycan Turbo S, which began production late last month.

The standard output of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S reaches 460 kW (625 hp). With Launch Control active, the vehicle can briefly reach a maximum output of 560 kW (761 hp).

The previous Nürburgring lap record for production electric cars was set in September 2021, when the Tesla Model S Plaid completed the track in 7 minutes 35 seconds.

The absolute Nürburgring lap record among electric vehicles belongs to Volkswagen I.D. R. In June 2019, this prototype completed the track with a score of 6:05.336
