Journalists of the What Car? journal Neil Wynn and Doug Revolta set a new unofficial world record for most countries visited by electric car in 24 hours.

The duo of journalists on the Porsche Taycan was going to travel 13 countries in one day, but in the end they even exceeded the plan and visited 14. The electric car started in the Netherlands, then drove through Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Bosnia and finished in Serbia.

In total, journalists covered 1930 km, developing an average speed of 80.3 km/h. This was achieved despite the fact that they stopped seven times on the 350kW ultra-fast chargers during the trip.

Wynn and Revolta drove a Porsche Taycan Performance Battery Plus. This modification has a 93.4 kWh battery and 380 hp engines. with the possibility of a short-term increase in performance up to 476 hp. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 5.4 seconds, the range in the combined cycle according to the WLTP evaluation methodology is from 431 to 505 km.

The team says that in general, the charging infrastructure along their route is well developed, but European countries still have work to do. They argue that in order for electric vehicles to become as common as combustion engine cars, even more reliable charging stations need to be installed in Europe.
