Thanks to publications Tesla posted on Instagram that Elon Musk's company is testing its cars to withstand extreme heat in the United Arab Emirates:
“Our quality engineers travel to Dubai during the hottest time of the year for extreme temperature and durability testing. The temperature reaches over 122°F/50°C.”

It looks like Tesla brought to Dubai mainly Model Y, but also some Model X and Model 3. In addition to useful information for engineers, the company received some great photos that can be used for marketing purposes.

Tests like these typically involve vehicles being subjected to extreme temperatures and solar radiation to see if they can handle the extreme conditions. It is possible that Tesla in this case tested new cobalt-free iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Testing in the deserts of the UAE can also help improve things like predicting remaining range given external factors such as temperature and altitude readings.
