Lucid Motors has started delivering its Air Pure model, the most budget-friendly option in its lineup. Despite its lower price tag, the Air Pure boasts an impressive 410-mile EPA range and a powerful 480 horsepower engine.

Lucid Motors has begun delivering its Air Pure model, the most affordable option in its lineup. While the Air Pure has a hefty price tag of $87,400, it is still significantly cheaper than the Tesla Model S Dual-Motor, which retails for $106,440. The Air Pure boasts an EPA range of 410 miles and a powerful 480 horsepower engine, allowing it to reach 60 mph in just four seconds.

The news of Air Pure deliveries was announced on Lucid's Twitter, along with pictures of customers with CEO Peter Rawlinson. This follows the recent start of European deliveries of the Air Dream Edition.

However, things have not been smooth sailing for Lucid. Production numbers have fallen short of expectations, and the company's stock has experienced a steep decline, with a 83% drop in 2022. There are also questions surrounding customer demand for the brand, which is relatively unknown and has faced concerns over build quality as a startup, as well as several recalls.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has even predicted that Lucid will fail. Musk and Rawlinson have a tumultuous history, with Musk claiming Rawlinson left Tesla "before things got tough" and suggesting that Rawlinson inflated his role at the company. While Rawlinson asserts that he was Chief Engineer at Tesla, Musk has denied this. However, there is evidence to the contrary, including a YouTube video from Tesla's official channel and references to Rawlinson as "VP of Engineering" and "Chief Engineer" on Tesla's website.
