Hennessey has announced the launch of the Venom F5 Revolution, a track-specific version of its hypercar that can still be driven on public roads. With a price tag starting at $2.7 million and a limited production run of only 24 units, this vehicle is sure to be highly sought after by car enthusiasts and collectors.

Despite the fact that John Hennessey's claim of the Hennessey Venom F5 being the fastest production car in the world is yet to be proven, he hasn't let his ambition cease and has instead created an even more extreme version. This variant promises to not only perform better on track but also remain street legal unlike its predecessor. That's right; you can drive this beast at top speeds without having a care in the world!

Hennessey's F5 Revolution has all of the same features as the initial F5 Coupe, including a carbon tub, 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 pound-feet of torque, seven-speed automated single-clutch sequential transmission and carbon ceramic brakes. In pursuit of making this trim even lighter than its predecessor — weighing under 3,000 pounds — Hennessey claimed that their engineering team reduced mass to make it "the lightest Venom model," yet they did not specify how much less weight was actually achieved in comparison to the already lightweight F5 Coupe.

Although Hennessey hasn’t made any top-speed claims for the Revolution, it will almost certainly be slower than the existing F5, which John Hennessey previously told C/D is targeting a top speed of over 311 mph (500 km/h). That’s because the Revolution is carrying substantial aerodynamic modifications, with these claimed to substantially increase its peak downforce abilities. The new adjustable rear wing, with patriotic stars-and-stripes endplates, is claimed to be capable of making more than 800 pounds of positive aero assistance at 186 mph, and over 1400 pounds at 249 mph.

Internal changes include a new transmission calibration, a more aggressive suspension setup, adjustable dampers, and wider forged alloy wheels making a larger contact patch. An available telemetry package displays and records circuit data including lap times, splits, and G-force.

At a cost of $2.7 million, the Venom F5 Revolution Coupe is priced at $600,000 more than its coupe version and only $300,000 less than the Roadster. Just 24 cars will be made available for this extraordinary model but it's not inconceivable that Hennessey may plan to launch another vehicle soon - perhaps even a Venom F5 Revolution Roadster capable of reaching speeds up to 250 mph!
