The model, which was based on one that crashed during Pikes Peak practice in 2020, features massive aero components designed to produce over 4,000 lbs (1,814 kg) of downforce as well as dry carbon bodywork and a stripped-off interior with a central seating position.

The aerodynamics package on the Bioniq Phoenix includes an ultra-wide front splitter and ultra-wide fenders around 19-inch UP-03 forged alloy wheels shod in Yokohama tires. The hood is also vented and the headlights are covered and there’s a huge rear wing mounted on the tailgate.

The car weighs in at 200 lbs (90 kg) less than stock due to extensive weight savings from the dry carbon fiber parts and chassis modifications. Unplugged Performance has yet to reveal any power or performance figures for this track-prepped EV.

According to racing driver Craig Coker's post on Instagram, the Bioniq Phoenix is ready for motorsport events at various tracks starting from Buttonwillow Raceway. Watch this short video from Unplugged Performance's official Instagram page for more information about the project.
