This year marks the 100th anniversary of the renowned Le Mans 24 Hours race, and Toyota Gazoo Racing, the multi-winning team, is celebrating the occasion with the introduction of an exciting concept vehicle. The Toyota Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition, based on the fifth generation of the hybrid production model, showcases a range of aerodynamic enhancements that give it a track-ready appearance.

The Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition boasts a redesigned front bumper, featuring motorsport-derived multi-headlamps flanking a larger honeycomb intake. The front end of the vehicle is further accentuated by a pronounced splitter, two sets of canards, and a lighter carbon-fiber hood. Moving to the side profile, one can appreciate the black fender flares, side sill extensions, and eye-catching "Racing Hybrid" decals. At the rear, the concept car incorporates a fixed rear wing, a wide diffuser, and rear fender extensions inspired by endurance racers.

Enhancing the overall performance, the hybrid concept is equipped with a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/50R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Furthermore, it benefits from a "wide-track" suspension setup, aimed at improving its handling capabilities.

While Toyota Gazoo Racing has not disclosed any modifications to the hybrid powertrain of this aggressive-looking Prius, they claim that the concept "achieves excellent driving performance due in part to its exclusive wheels and performance aerodynamic parts inspired by TGR's WEC-competing GR010 HYBRID."

The unveiling of the track-focused Prius takes place at the Manufacturers' Village, adjacent to the Le Mans 24 Hours track. Additionally, the concept car will be on display at the WEC championship race in Fuji and various other events.

Although the Prius-based concept appears to be a one-off creation, rumors circulate about an upcoming GRMN variant of the Prius that could draw inspiration from this concept. Such a variant might feature increased power and a sharper chassis setup.
