Porsche and Austrian shipyard Frauscher have joined forces to embark on an exciting collaboration. The result? An all-electric, 28.4-foot sports boat that shares the powertrain with the upcoming Macan EV. As part of the official announcement, the next-generation electric crossover has been unveiled through a captivating sketch released by both companies.

While we've already caught glimpses of the zero-emissions Macan in spy shots, this new sketch provides a fresh perspective, particularly in terms of design. The digital drawing showcases the side profile of the new crossover, and upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that the rear has a more pronounced rake compared to the current-generation model. Interestingly, this design choice aligns the Macan more closely with the striking profiles of the Panamera and Taycan models.

One noteworthy detail from the sketch is the taillights, which bear a resemblance to those found on the Taycan. Like the Taycan, the Macan's taillights feature a continuous beam of red light that spans the width of the vehicle, creating an eye-catching visual signature.

Moving beyond the sketch, let's delve into the specifications that define the Macan EV. Porsche has confirmed that their upcoming model will utilize the new PPE architecture, which incorporates 800-volt technology. Additionally, the Macan EV will house a robust approximately 100-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack, solidifying its commitment to delivering impressive performance and range.

In line with this collaboration, the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air—an adaptation of the Frauscher 858 Fantom Air day cruiser—will seamlessly integrate the cutting-edge features found in the Macan EV. This includes the integration of the permanently excited synchronous electric motor, the 800-volt architecture, as well as the high-voltage battery and its accompanying power electronics.

While the announcement does not specify the power output of the boat, we already know that the Macan EV's most powerful variant will offer an awe-inspiring all-wheel-drive setup, capable of generating up to 603 horsepower and over 738 pound-feet (1,000 Newton-meters) of torque. Furthermore, the Macan EV is expected to support charging speeds exceeding 270 kW from compatible chargers, potentially allowing for faster top-ups compared to the Taycan, which currently accepts up to 270 kW.

Both the all-electric Macan and the Fantom Air are set to make their debut in 2024. To celebrate their arrival, an exclusive first edition of 25 Fantom Air units will be meticulously crafted in Ohlsdorf, Austria.
