The Orca Performance is priced from $19,490, approximately $7,000 less than the first model, the Orca Carbon. Safety also played a role in the design of the vehicle, as Taiga Motors wrote:
“A fully closed loop powertrain system, designed for Taiga snowmobiles, not only ensures that no pollutants are introduced to the water, but also means no special winterization is required.” Furthermore, the auxiliary systems are designed in such a way that they feature “extremely low parasitic drain”, which allows the vehicle to be left unplugged for up to three years without draining the battery.
According to Taiga, the battery can optionally be charged to 80 percent in less than 40 minutes via DC.
“Our design and engineering teams have pushed themselves, enabling us to optimize designs for high volume manufacturing without compromising the Orca’s distinctive character lines, agile hydrodynamics or exhilarating acceleration.” said Samuel Bruneau, CEO, and co-founder of Taiga. He also comments that the vehicle is better suited for marine areas than its combustion counterparts due to the issue of fuel: “No more trips to the gas station, no more hauling fuel down to the dock or spills into the lake, and no more engine maintenance; Orca Performance truly redefines the experience of owning a personal watercraft.”
