Ford already has a lineup of high-performance Mustangs, which comprises the Dark Horse, Dark Horse R track car, and race-ready GT4 and GT3 models. While it is possible that the Multimatic pushrod suspension could be revealed as an option, it's more likely that the car is a new track-ready Mustang.
In March, Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford, posted a video on Twitter of the Mustang GT3 being tested at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida. Later on, the CEO retweeted the same video with a caption questioning, 'Shall we develop a version for the road?'
Multimatic is a well-known name in motorsports. Multimatic produces dynamic suspension spool-valve (DSSV) dampers for several high-performance cars, which include models from Aston Martin and Mercedes-Benz. Porsche uses DSSV dampers in its 992 GT3 Cup cars, and Multimatic manufactures bespoke pieces for various Formula 1 teams. Recently, Ford enlisted Multimatic to develop the Ford GT, so the two companies have a shared history.
