Hyundai Bayon is the brand's entry-level crossover for Europe, starting at 21,545 Euros (23,420 USD). Unveiled in March 2021, the Bayon is currently preparing for a minor mid-cycle refresh.

Here are the first spy photos of the facelifted Bayon, showing a camouflaged prototype testing on public roads in Southern Europe. The camouflage creates the illusion of a heavily revised exterior design, although upon closer inspection it appears that the visual changes will be kept to a minimum. 

Up front, it appears that the LED daytime running lights will get a new, sleeker shape, and one could even speculate that there will be a coast-to-coast LED strip like on the new Kona. The main light clusters might also get a new shape, but there's no confirmation on that.

The rear end seems to be untouched and even the wheel design seems to be identical to the model currently on sale. There is no detailed look at the interior, but the fact that there is no camouflage covering the dashboard on this prototype leads us to believe that the changes inside the cabin will also be minimal.

In Europe, the Bayon is positioned below the Kona and is available with a choice of three petrol engines. The base unit is a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine with just 83 hp, while a 1.4-liter mill sits above it with an output of 100 hp. If you want turbocharged power, you can opt for the 1.0-liter T-GDi engine, which is available in two power ratings of 100 and 120 horsepower. There's also a wide choice of transmissions - a five-speed manual for the base engine, six-speed manual and automatic transmissions for the 1.4-liter, and an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic for the turbocharged engine.
