BMW has released a brief teaser for its upcoming Vision Neue Klasse concept, set to be unveiled on September 2. The teaser video offers a glimpse into a kidney grille design that's entirely different from any previous BMW models.

The snippet, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), reveals that the Vision Neue Klasse will sport a grille composed of dual screens. These screens illuminate and gently oscillate with a white pattern, creating an effect that somewhat resembles a conventional mesh grille. Additionally, the vehicle flaunts a BMW emblem that appears to be integrated into the car's body, along with a prominent badge stating 'BMW Vision Neue Klasse' positioned beneath the grille.

Earlier teaser releases from BMW also hint that the Vision Neue Klasse will come with sophisticated LED taillights, and the inside of the car will feature a slender digital panel stretching across the upper part of the dashboard.

The Vision Neue Klasse holds special significance among concept cars. Not only will it showcase a fresh design direction for BMW, but it will also serve as a precursor to a forthcoming production model. Moreover, it will introduce a new chassis set to support six new electric vehicles that BMW plans to roll out between 2025 and 2027.

As for the technical aspects, details about the new platform are scarce. However, it's anticipated to include BMW's sixth-generation battery technology, promising 30% longer range, 20% improved energy density, and 30% faster charging times. These advanced batteries will consist of new lithium-ion cells in a package that can be directly attached to the car's framework. Furthermore, the sixth-gen cells will have cathodes using 50% less cobalt and anodes with 20% less graphite. BMW also plans to incorporate recycled materials such as cobalt, nickel, and lithium in the battery production.
