Scheduled for production at Renault's Douai ElectricCity Plant, the brand-new Scenic E-Tech is set to hit European dealerships early next year. It will be available with two different all-electric powertrain options, both using LG nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries.
The entry-level variant features a front-located electric motor producing 125 kW (170 hp) and 280 Nm of torque. It is powered by a 60 kWh battery, offering a driving range of over 420 km according to the WLTP cycle.
For the standard trim, DC fast charging capabilities peak at 130 kW, it takes 9.3 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h, and the maximum speed stands at 150 km/h.
The higher-end Scenic E-Tech boasts a stronger motor outputting 160 kW (220 hp) and 300 Nm of torque, supported by an 87 kWh battery. This allows for an anticipated WLTP range of more than 620 km. DC fast charging for this variant can go up to 150 kW, it accelerates to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds, and its top speed is 170 km/h. Both versions also support AC charging up to 22 kW.

Interestingly, Renault states that each battery pack is modular, meaning individual components can be separately replaced or repaired. The company also asserts that the electronics, battery, and motor contain no rare earth elements, aligning with their Zoe and Megane E-Tech models.
In terms of environmental impact, the fifth-gen Scenic integrates up to 80% recycled material in the dashboard structure, 26% in the cockpit, and features carpets and headlining made nearly entirely from recycled plastic bottles. No leather is used in the interior.
Additionally, the vehicle’s Solarbay glass roof consists of 50% waste material. Around 37% of all the car’s ferrous elements and up to 40% of the hood and doors are made of recycled aluminum. The manufacturing process employs a closed-loop system to reuse waste materials.

Inside, the redesigned Scenic E-Tech offers seating for five and a completely flat floor. It also features up to 38.7 liters of varied storage spaces throughout the cabin. The rear armrest alone provides 3.6 liters of storage and comes with built-in stands for mobile devices, two cup holders, and a pair of USB-C ports.

Dimensionally, the new Scenic measures 4,470 mm in length, 1,864 mm in width, and 1,571 mm in height. In the case of the 87-kWh version, the vehicle tips the scales at 1,842 kg and offers a trunk volume of 545 liters.
The front cockpit features the OpenR Link digital interface, consisting of a 12.3-inch horizontal TFT screen behind the steering wheel and a 12-inch vertical touchscreen in the center console. The system supports over 50 apps, including Google Maps, and is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via wired or wireless connections.
On the safety side, the new electric family vehicle offers more than 30 driver-assist systems and safety features like context-sensitive adaptive cruise control, Stop & Go, and lane-keeping functions.

While pricing details remain undisclosed for the new Scenic, it is expected to compete with the likes of the Kia Niro EV, Tesla Model Y, the upcoming Peugeot e-3008, and the Ford Explorer.
