The outgoing Gladiator is based on the Overland trim and is only offered with a diesel engine. The vehicle was initially launched in Europe in 2021, making its exit seem rather abrupt.
Distinguishing features of the FarOut Final Edition include 18-inch granite crystal gloss-black aluminum wheels, a three-piece body-color hardtop from Mopar, and black tubular side steps. The model also comes with deep-tinted glass, black freedom fender decals situated over the wheel arches, and an exclusive metallic FarOut Edition badge on the tailgate. The truck bed has a spray-in liner for added protection.
Inside, the vehicle features McKinley heated leather seats and a heated steering wheel. The audio system comprises nine Alpine speakers and a subwoofer. Standard safety enhancements encompass blind-spot monitoring, forward collision alerts, auto high-beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control.
Under the hood, the FarOut Final Edition is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that produces 260 horsepower (194 kilowatts) and 600 Newton-meters (442 pound-feet) of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed TorqueFlite 8HP75 automatic gearbox. The truck also features a 3.73 axle ratio and the Selec-Trac two-speed transfer case.
The special edition model comes in seven color options: Bright White, Black, High Velocity, Silver Zynith, Sting Grey, Sarge Green, and Hydro Blue. Buyers can choose from two additional packages: The Cargo Group, which provides a lockable storage bin under the rear seat, a 400-watt inverter, and a 230-volt AC adapter; and the Duel Top Group, offering both hard and soft tops. Other individual options include tonneau covers and an off-road camera.
The Gladiator's discontinuation in Europe paves the way for an array of new offerings. Jeep aims to debut three electric vehicles by 2025, namely the Avenger, Recon, and Wagoneer-S. Stellantis, Jeep's parent company, has ambitious plans to transition the brand to a fully electric lineup in Europe by 2030.
