In 2024, as you browse Amazon for everyday items like water cases, headphones, and rechargeable batteries, you will also have the option to purchase a Hyundai vehicle. This comes as a result of Hyundai's partnership with the online retail giant, marking a significant shift in car sales methods.

During the Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai Motor Company's President and CEO, Jaehoon Chang, highlighted this collaboration: "Hyundai is the first automotive company available for full end-to-end transactions in Amazon’s US store, and this is another example of how we continue to push for ways to elevate the customer journey together with our outstanding retail partners."

The process is straightforward. Dealerships will list their Hyundai inventory on Amazon, allowing customers to filter their search by model, trim, color, and specific features. Buyers will then select their preferred payment and financing methods. Once the sale is finalized, the customer can choose either to pick up their new vehicle or have it delivered by the dealer. Further details about the purchasing process through Amazon are yet to be disclosed.

Starting in 2025, Hyundai will also integrate Alexa into their vehicles, offering voice control for media, reminders, calendar checks, and the ability to manage Amazon smart home devices directly from the car.

The announcement also suggests that Hyundai won't be the only brand to adopt this model: "In 2024, auto dealers for the first time will be able to sell vehicles in Amazon’s U.S. store, and Hyundai will be the first brand available for customers to purchase."

This approach represents a significant innovation in car sales, blending internet sales with the traditional dealership framework. This new model simplifies the car buying experience, eliminating the need to visit a dealership while ensuring fixed pricing, as Amazon currently does not facilitate price negotiations.
