The Kuga Active features additional plastic body cladding and silver skid plates, giving it a more robust appearance. It also sits 10 millimeters higher at the front axle and 5 mm higher at the rear, providing extra ground clearance. Ford has introduced a Trail drive mode, enhancing throttle response and traction control for improved grip on mud, sand, and soft surfaces.
Inside, the Kuga Active boasts a dark wood trim on the dashboard and door panels, along with exclusive upholstery on the 18-way adjustable seats. In Europe, the 2024 Kuga will also come in Titanium and ST-Line grades, each featuring subtle styling enhancements compared to the previous models.

The base version is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine delivering 150 hp to the front axle through a six-speed manual gearbox. There's also an option for a self-charging hybrid with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor producing a combined 180 hp in the FWD version or 183 hp in the AWD model.
The highlight is the upgraded plug-in hybrid, also equipped with a 2.5-liter engine, now producing a combined 243 hp. It features an upgraded power-split automatic transmission shared with the Kuga Hybrid AWD. The Kuga PHEV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, nearly two seconds faster than before, and its towing capacity has increased by over 30 percent to 2,100 kilograms. Thanks to a 14.4-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, it offers a maximum electric range of 69 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
Ford is already accepting orders for the 2024 Kuga in select countries, and it will be available at dealerships later this month.
